Application Managers are responsible for managing the software applications delivered by the Automotive Solutions Group. Application Managers work closely with the Customer Technology Manager to define and deliver those applications. Their role is to lead the system design, development and implementation of the project for the engineering team. Application Managers also provide ongoing support for the applications they manage and the internal teams that operate those applications. Application Managers are not Managing Directors, rather the most successful will have a strong development background with experience working in and leading all stages of the development life cycle.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Understand BIW customer business needs and requirements and bring those requirements to life as web and / or mobile applications.
- Provide direction for the software engineering team, in written specification form, to ensure that customer expectations are met or exceeded in the deliverables.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts, resolve issues quickly, and remediate software as needed.
