What You'll Do: As a Development Director, you'll play a pivotal role in our mission to help New Mexico’s youth reach their full potential. You’ll be at the heart of our fundraising efforts, collaborating with an incredible team to create exciting events, foster donor relationships, and drive the resources we need to make a lasting impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Fundraising Events
- Engage with corporate sponsors, schools, and attendees to ensure the success of our fundraising events
- Work with the team on event planning – from brainstorming creative themes to making sure everything runs smoothly
- Bring your flair for fun to every event and make sure attendees feel inspired and connected!
General Fundraising
- Help our team hit ambitious fundraising goals, both for big events and small-scale efforts
- Research high ROI third-party events and help secure grants
- Cultivate donor relationships to create lasting, sustainable support for our cause
Recruitment
- Collaborate with teams to recruit mentors and spread the word about our mission
- Attend events, make presentations, and partner with marketing to create content that speaks to potential volunteers
- Together, we’ll help build an incredible network of mentors for New Mexico’s youth!
Teamwork Makes the Dream Work
- Work across departments to create amazing outcomes for our programs and those we serve
- Join forces with other youth service organizations to brainstorm solutions and share best practices
Other Awesome Duties
- Whatever the day brings – you’ll tackle it with enthusiasm, dedication, and a smile!
What You Bring:
- A BA (Bachelor’s degree) and at least 3 years of experience in fund development or donor relations
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) – you know how to inspire and engage!
- Proficiency in MS Office and fundraising software
- A knack for relationship-building – you make connections that last
- Experience working with a board of directors or similar leadership team
- A results-oriented mindset, with a proven track record in fundraising and donor management
Bonus Points:
- Experience with nonprofit fundraising and a passion for working with youth
- Fluency in Spanish (¡Hablamos español!)

Other Important Details:
- You’ll need the ability to work outside regular business hours (minimum one evening a week and one weekend a month)
