Job Title: Program Manager

Reports To: CEO

Hours: Fulltime 32 to 40 hours a week, no overtime

Location: In office at 303 Williams Ave., Huntsville AL, 35801

Hourly Pay: $18/hr.

Benefits: Paid Holidays, Vacation & Sick leave, mileage at the state rate

Job Summary:

Bachelor Degree Required. This position entails responsibility for the direct service mentoring operations of the agency. All operations will be managed and implemented according to established Standards of Practice by Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (BBBSA). These operations include training and screening adult volunteers; matching volunteers one to one with at risk youth; interviewing and assessing youth; providing follow up support once the match is made; planning and implementing group activities for program participants; assisting with collaborations & partnerships; and recruiting volunteers & youth.

The Program Manager is responsible for maintaining a high standard of excellence in mentoring and support services to youth, and taking the initiative to further this goal. The Program Manager is responsible for meeting operational goals and maintaining an ongoing evaluation of outcomes of youth served. For the right candidate, this position will be extremely rewarding and fulfilling.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Handle inquiries of all participants and provide orientation
  • Interview children, parents, & volunteers for program enrollment
  • Review & maintain program files for all participants
  • Match Littles (clients) with the most appropriate Big (volunteer) according to professional assessments of each participant
  • Develop Youth Outcome Goals for each match
  • Ensure that program files include all necessary documents
  • Learn CRM system and maintain current program participant files
  • Recruit and screen volunteers which includes calling references, running background checks, conducting home assessments, and interviewing with very personal interview format questions
  • Plan and implement group activities and attend to supervise children and monitor match relationships
  • Communicate with school personnel, families, referral agencies, and other organizations on behalf of agency
  • Ensure that program services are carried out, such as activities, follow up match support, and workshops for parents/volunteers/youth
  • Provide reports as needed to CEO
  • Assist with fundraising as needed
  • Assist in other programmatic functions as required, such as special events, to support the program
  • Set up informational booths at community fairs and explore community collaborations to recruit youth & volunteers
  • Conduct exit interviews with all parties at match closure and evaluate participants for rematch
  • Attend Children’s Policy Council Meetings and other social service networking events
  • Train participants on Child Safety Curriculum
  • Conduct Quality Assurance reviews of other staff’s work
  • Ensures that all BBBSA Standards of Practice are in place and up to date and that the agency program operations are being followed according to the current Service Delivery Program Manual

Applicant Qualifications:

Minimum BA/BS degree REQUIRED – Sociology, Social Work, Family Studies or related field highly preferred

Strong sales and customer service focus

High level of organization

Professional demeanor

Extremely efficient with technical skills to maintain database and produce reports.

Willing and able to work with diverse populations.

Strong time management skills
