THE WORK: The Claims Specialist is responsible for processing all accidents and incidents that occur within the Network. As the Claims Specialist, you will report to the Safety Manager. This includes responsibilities, but is not limited to, the following:
Responsibilities:
- Review, process, and monitor progress to close insurance claims related to transit operations, including but not limited to accidents, incidents injuries, and property damage
- Obtain all relevant supporting claim documents from the insured network provider, creating complete electronic files.
- Receive, review, verify documentation to ensure completeness of claim file for processing
- Conduct thorough investigation to determine liability of claim (preventable or non-preventable) using telematic data, dashboard cams, police reports, and witness statements when available.
- Administer claims deductible assignments to the associated and responsible insured.
- Prepare and submit claims files to the designated insurance claims desk of our broker partners and/or Insurer.
- Maintaining clear and effective communication with the insured, insurance departments, and other involved parties throughout the claims process using the electronic insurance claims tracker to monitor the status and visibility of accidents/incidents until closed.
- Attend weekly KPI Team meetings and Monthly ELT meetings to report on the statues of accident incident occurrences that occurred in the week prior, as well as, the ongoing status of existing claims.
- Collaborate and liaise with relevant Team Members, Brokers, Adjusters, and Insurers to ensure that all processes involved in accident and incident reporting is carried out in a timely manner
- Communicate with insurance companies, legal teams, and other involved parties to gather necessary information and documentation
- Provided excellent customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving concerns
- Maintained accurate and organized claim records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and laws related to insurance claims
- Consistently met and exceeded performance goals in claim processing and resolution.
Experience and Education:
- 2 plus years of Claims processing
- Knowledge of insurance policies, procedures, and regulations
Skills Requirements:
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of insurance principles and regulations
Tech Skills:
- Expert in Microsoft Suite, including Excel
Language Skills:
Required:
- Ability to read, write, comprehend and speak the English language.
