Overview
The Rental and Repair Shop Floor Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the department. He or she oversees check-in and check-out processes for repair of outdoor power equipment, small engines, glass, plexi-glass, re-screening of windows and doors as well as rental equipment and U-Haul truck rentals. The Rental and Repair Floor Supervisor ensures all customers’ questions/concerns are addressed by providing knowledgeable and pertinent information regarding products, usage, warranties and repairs. Additionally, he or she ensures that all the retail operations within the department are run smoothly.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- 1 year of retail supervisory experience, preferably in small engine repair and/or rental.
- 1-2 years of retail sales or rental operations.
- Skill in establishing priorities and managing both workload and time wisely.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both customers and co-workers.
- Ability to manage and work with a team.
- Ability to follow verbal and written work directions.
- Ability to multitask and follow through on work assignments, especially those that are detailed.
- Ability to follow health and safety compliance.
- Availability to work weekends during busy season and evenings as needed to provide coverage.
Essential Job Functions
- Follow and promote high standards of safety, cleanliness and organization.
- Be able to open or close the shop safely and securely.
- Plan and supervise breaks and lunch schedules.
- Ensure all areas are fully stocked and that staff are completing this throughout the day as needed.
- Ensure rentals are clean, in good working order and merchandised well.
- Address customer issues and requests, elevating to the Assistant Store Managers as needed.
- Provides exceptional employee to customer experience by supporting and assisting in interactions as needed.
- Assign staff to specific duties as needed.
