Parts Counter Person Responsibilities

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Parts Department Advisors are to greet and acknowledge all customers and technicians.
- Assist customers' needs by looking up parts, selling items, taking orders, answering phone calls, stocking shelves and receiving merchandise.
- Keep the Parts Department clean and orderly.
- Accurately charge out parts on repair orders and counter slips.
- Accurately post in and receive parts orders
- Keep up to date with brand training requirements
- Follow up on parts orders and shortages.
- Report discrepancies to Part Manager.
- Maintain a friendly environment with technicians, service advisors, and customers.
- Inform your supervisor of potential problems or potential new business opportunities directly or indirectly related to your department
- Be early, flexible and available for scheduling.
- Focus on Quality and Service.
- Demonstrate an interest in growing the parts business.
- Use dealership equipment respectfully and safely.
- Maintain a clean and neat appearance.
- Perform duties as requested by management.
- Strives for harmony and teamwork within the department and with all other departments.
- Maintains awareness of safety and follows workplace safety requirements.

Qualifications:
- Brand parts experience preferred, but not required.
- Ability to speak and listen effectively one on one.
- Ability to interpret customer/technician needs.
- Basic computer skills.
- Good organizational skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
- High School Diploma or equivalent and prior auto parts sales experience (preferred)
