Job Title: Engineering Assistant

Department: Engineering

Reports To: Engineering Manager

Summary:

The Engineering Assistant provides support to the engineering team in the design, development, and production of modular homes. This role involves a combination of technical tasks, administrative duties, and collaboration with other departments.

Responsibilities:

Technical Support:

Assist engineers with creating and revising construction drawings using AutoCAD or Revit.

Prepare material takeoffs.

Generate production documents and shop drawings.

Maintain organized files of drawings, specifications, and other project documentation.

Assist with inspections and quality control checks as requested by the production or quality teams.

Log and correct mistakes in plans as requested by the production and quality teams.

Advise sales, procurement, production, or quality departments as necessary.

Find, understand, and apply various building codes (IRC & IBC).

Assist in plan reviews.

Administrative Support:

Answer phones, emails, and other inquiries related to engineering matters.

Track project timelines and deadlines.

Assist with the preparation of presentations and reports.

Collaboration:

Work closely with architects, designers, production staff, and sales teams to ensure smooth project execution.

Participate in team meetings.

Implement and contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes.

Qualifications:

Associate's degree in engineering technology or related field preferred.

1 years of experience in a construction or manufacturing environment is a plus. (A high degree of experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.)

Proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit. Preferably both.

Knowledge of navigating building codes and common construction practices is highly desirable.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Detail-oriented.
