This role is 100% computer-based and requires daily data interpretation, coordination with internal stakeholders, and decision-making support for the operations team.

Essential Functions
- Daily Production Planning: Support the creation and adjustment of production schedules based on incoming orders, backlog, customer priority, and shopfloor feedback.
- Material Constraint Analysis: Evaluate daily material availability using SAP to determine whether production can proceed as planned; escalate shortages or conflicts with procurement and supervision.
- Scheduling Optimization: Recommend and adjust production orders, sequence changes, and alternate routings to ensure timely execution with minimum delays.
- System Maintenance: Ensure accuracy of production order creation, status tracking, and completion within SAP. Assist in mastering data maintenance (routings, BOMs, etc.).
- Data Validation & Forecasting: Analyze historical data, forecasts, and material usage trends to support strategic planning and prepare the plant for upcoming demand fluctuations.
- Reporting: Generate and distribute daily/weekly planning reports to internal stakeholders. Provide insights into deviations, material shortages, and performance vs. plan.
- Learning and Development: Work closely with the Master Production Scheduler to absorb long-term planning knowledge, core inventory coordination, and stakeholder alignment.
- Documentation: Maintain and update production planning documentation, SOPs, and planning logic explanations for process clarity and internal audits.
- Support the VP of Operations with special analytical projects.
- Participate in interdepartmental meetings and planning sessions.
- Coordinate with Quality, Engineering, and Warehouse for planning-relevant topics.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the planning process.
- Must be able to sit for prolonged periods (90–100% of the workday).
- Minimal physical exertion: role is focused on computer-based planning and analysis.
- Must use safety equipment such as steel toe shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection. Safety glasses and hearing protection are provided.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
- Prior internship or 1–2 years of experience in a production planning or manufacturing coordination role preferred.
- Proficiency in SAP (especially PP and MM modules) or similar ERP systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas, data visualization).
- Must be available to work on-site full-time (100% in-office role).
- Excellent analytical and logical thinking skills; ability to interpret production data, material flow, and constraints.
- Strong communication and coordination abilities to advise supervisors, purchasing, and engineering teams on scheduling matters.
- Attention to detail in data entry and schedule tracking.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-complexity manufacturing environment.
- Ability to identify risks in the production plan and propose corrective actions or workarounds.
- Capable of learning and eventually leading production schedule optimization, including forecast-based planning and make-to-order logic.
