Network Security Analyst
Location: Remote and Onsite as Required: Wytheville, Virginia (with travel to Bland, Carroll, Grayson, Smyth, and Wythe Counties, as well as the City of Galax)

Job Summary
- Perform a comprehensive network security analysis to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, internal/external scans, and system evaluations to enhance MRCS’s network security and resilience.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct external and internal vulnerability scans to identify risks within MRCS’s network infrastructure.
- Perform security assessments of web applications, websites, and business systems for HR, Payroll, and the Business Office.
- Analyze findings and document potential risks with actionable recommendations.
- Collaborate with MRCS personnel to implement network security improvements.
Firewall Evaluation
- Review firewall configurations, applications, protocols, and policies.
- Evaluate logs and identify potential configuration vulnerabilities.
Reporting and Documentation
- Deliver comprehensive reports with results, implications, risks, and actionable recommendations.
- Develop technical documentation to support remediation plans and ongoing network improvements.
Coordination and Communication
- Engage with third-party vendors and stakeholders to ensure effective testing.
- Confirm testing objectives and provide progress updates to MRCS leadership.
Compliance and Best Practices
- Ensure all assessments comply with NIST 800-171 standards.
- Utilize vendor-neutral methodologies and tools for assessment activities.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience: Proven experience in network security assessments, with familiarity with NIST 800-171 framework.
- Certifications: CCNA Security, CompTIA Security , CEH.
- Skills: Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with expertise in vulnerability scanning tools.
Work Environment
- Frequent travel across MRCS service areas.
- Assessments may occur after hours to minimize operational disruption.
- Standard working hours are 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, with flexibility as needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $97,297.00 - $111,330.00 per year
