Purpose
Supports the overall operations and Human Resources functions within the Wiggins mill.

Key Activities
Operations Support
- Assist with tasks delegated by mill manager to support operations team, with focus on Human Resources support (with dotted line to mill HR Manager).
HR Support
- Weekly review of hourly time (includes going through employee time records, updating and making documented changes)
- Maintain and reconcile hourly time off/away tracker (vacation, personal)
- Assist with HR Duties (helping with hourly employee changes, recruiting, on- boarding, etc…)
- Safety Committee participant
- Support HR with administrative requests (personnel files /compliance / benefits)
- Coordinate lunches/meetings as required
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (technical/professional skills, expertise and qualifications)
- Associates degree in related field or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years supporting human resources as assistant or in entry-level role
- Experience in industrial union environment a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Enjoys fostering good relationships
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Prior experience using ADP Workforce Now and Time & Attendance, a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Powerpoint, Excel)
Working Conditions (e.g., heat, cold, noise, etc.)
Essential Physical Functions
(e.g., lifting, bending, climbing, reading, etc.)
- Office setting with occasional exposure to paper machine, converting, shipping and warehousing areas.
- Potential hazards include exposure to production equipment, high noise areas and heat and humidity.
