Assist the General Manager with overseeing all aspects of the hotel operations including front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, guest relations, administration, marketing, and sales. The Assistant General Manager must ensure that all guests receive exceptional customer service and assure the highest possible level of guest satisfaction. The Assistant General Manager must always meet or exceed brand standards.
Essential Functions
- Greet and welcome guests upon arrival. Register guests into the computer, verifying reservation, and all required information is recorded accurately.
- Accept and handle payment information accurately and within company policy.
- Maintain house bank and deposits accurately and within company policy.
- Capture sales through reservations and sales inquiries.
- Coordinate between all departments to assure that guest service standards are consistently met or exceeded.
- Resolve guest concerns in accordance with brand standards and hotel policy.
- Coordinate daily operations and communication between departments to ensure accurate and efficient workflow.
- Maintain all areas of the hotel for appearance, organization and operational effectiveness.
- Assist guests in person, by phone or by email with future reservations.
- On a regular basis, this position requires talking, listening, close visual acuity, kneeling, crouching, walking, pushing, pulling, reaching, climbing, balancing, grasping, repetitive motion, extreme heat and cold and the ability to lift to fifty pounds.
- The ability to work in a standing position for up to 8 hours.
- Must possess basic accounting, multiline phone, revenue and rate management as well as sales and marketing skills.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with guests and associates.
- Must be able to train new associates in all departments.
- Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, the Assistant General Manager must have the ability to work a variety of shifts and in a variety of departments based upon the needs of the hotel.
- The Assistant General Manager must be able to provide coverage when the General Manager is not available or physically on the hotel property.
- Assistant General Manager will be required to have an on-call schedule with the General Manager
- Must be able to complete management duties such as correspondence and assistance with hotel accounting department, GrandStay, and all vendors as needed.
- At times it may be required that the Assistant General Manager is required to participate in off property trade shows and sales and marketing efforts.

- Rotating weekends
- Weekends as needed
Experience:
- Hotel management: 1 year (Preferred)
- Hospitality: 1 year (Preferred)
