Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and talented Visual Arts Teacher to join our faculty for the academic year 2025-2026. The ideal candidate is a dynamic educator and practicing artist who can inspire creativity, foster artistic expression, and promote visual literacy in students across Grades 9 to 12.
Primary Responsibilities
- Teach a variety of visual arts courses, which may include Drawing, Painting, Ceramics, Digital Art, and Art History.
- Develop and deliver engaging lessons that introduce students to artistic techniques, materials, and critical analysis.
- Foster an environment of creativity, self-expression, and respect in the art classroom.
- Encourage students to explore both traditional and contemporary art forms.
- Organize and showcase student work through displays and exhibitions within the school and community.
- Integrate cross-curricular and interdisciplinary approaches to enhance learning.
- Maintain and manage classroom materials, equipment, and supplies.
- Evaluate student performance through a variety of assessments, providing regular feedback and support.
- Collaborate with colleagues and participate in school events and visual arts-related extracurricular opportunities.
Other Responsibilities:Additional duties as assigned and approved by the English and Fine Arts Department Chairperson and the Administration
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification in Visual Arts for high school (preferred but not required).
- Experience teaching high school-level visual arts (preferred).
- A strong portfolio of personal artwork and student work (preferred).
- Proficiency with various art media, including both traditional and digital platforms.
- Excellent classroom management, organizational, and communication skills.
