Perform mosquito control activities and surveillance to minimize the impact of mosquito-spread diseases such as West Nile Virus. This is a seasonal position. Working hours are typically 4:45 am-11 am, Monday-Friday.

Perform mosquito control activities and surveillance to minimize the impact of mosquito-spread diseases such as West Nile Virus. This is a seasonal position. Working hours are typically 4:45 am-11 am, Monday-Friday.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
- Set up and maintain mosquito traps. • Performs the weekly collection of mosquito trap contents and delivers a portion to the North Dakota Department of Health laboratory. • Determine the sex and species of mosquitoes and enters data into records system. • Performs mosquito control activities such as treating water with mosquito larvicide and applying mosquito adulticide in public areas. • Load and unload pesticide. Triple washes pesticide containers prior to disposal. • Clean, wash, and maintain mosquito equipment, including vehicles. • Maintain mosquito storage space. • Performs other duties of a comparable level/type as required. • Performs related duties.
- Ability to use a microscope. • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. • Ability to follow instructions, especially those on pesticide labels. • Ability to use Microsoft applications and GIS. • Ability to record and maintain accurate records.
