Summary
The Division Order Analyst is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting legal documents to determine ownership interests in oil and gas properties. This role involves collaborating with land, legal, and accounting departments to ensure accuracy in revenue distribution, resolving ownership discrepancies, and maintaining comprehensive division order records. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of title examination principles within the oil and gas industry.
Job Responsibilities and Essential Functions
- Lead the review, analysis, and interpretation of complex title documents, leases, contracts, legal decrees, division orders, joint operating agreements, conveyances, or other related documents to determine ownership interests.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of departmental process and procedures
- Oversee the management of Division of Interest records and accurate processing of ownership changes by determining working interest and burdens associated with royalty and overriding royalty interest through analysis of title opinions, assignments, deeds, estate documents, leases, etc.
- Collaborate with land, legal, and accounting departments to ensure seamless and timely payment of royalties, working interests, and overriding royalties.
- Promptly addressing any discrepancies and maintaining open lines of communication to ensure alignment with objectives and deadlines.
- Oversee and optimize the maintenance of division order records and databases, updating ownership changes, division decks, and well decks as needed while implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Resolve complex and escalated ownership discrepancies, inquiries, and disputes with interest owners, landowners, and regulatory agencies through phone and email ensuring swift and compliant resolutions.
- Oversee and assist with the preparation and distribution of division orders, transfer orders, and other related documents in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct research and due diligence on property ownership, title history, and legal issues related to division orders and use advanced problem-solving skills to help others on the teamwork through any raised concerns.
- Provide strategic oversight for acquisition, divestiture, due diligence, internal/external audits, data conversions, and other special projects to ensure alignment with team and company goals.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices related to division order processes and revenue distribution.
- Mentor others on the team to enhance departmental expertise and efficiency.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Land Management, Energy Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5 years of experience in division order analysis or related roles within the upstream oil and gas industry.
- Advanced knowledge of IFS BOLO.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel.
- Experience with title examination, lease analysis, and revenue distribution calculations.
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing oil and gas operations and division order processes.
- DJ Basin experience is preferred

- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background screening
- Ability to legally work in the US without sponsorship
Compensation
Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $83,500 - $132,400 annually in this location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amount listed above.

Location
This position is in Denver, CO. Candidates currently residing in locations outside of daily commuting distance will be considered, however, it is the expectation that the selected individual will be available at the work location. No relocation or travel assistance will be provided by the Company for this position.
Work Environment
This position operates in an office and field environment. This entails working inside an office space wherein employees may be provided a public work station (cubicle) or private office. From time to time, the role will require field visits where exposure to extreme weather conditions, fumes, airborne particles, vibrations, dust, electrical charges and other unforeseen exposures may be encountered.
Physical Demands
In the performance of the duties and responsibilities of this job, the employee is required to have visual acuity to operate a motor vehicle and view a computer terminal for prolonged periods of time. While at work sites, the employee will be expected to walk and stand. Individuals might be asked to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and/or crawl. Individuals might be required to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. in the performance of this position.
Position Type and Working Hours
This is a full-time position. Typical work hours are from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday – Thursday. Working Friday’s typical work hours are from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Employee must be capable and willing to work overtime as required and to participate in occasional meetings, events, seminars, conferences, or other activities outside of typical work hours. Employees responsible for project operations are expected to monitor and, in some cases, respond to emails, calls, or texts outside of business hours.
Travel
Occasional travel to work site locations may be expected. Overnight stays may be required from time to time for training, seminars, field visits, or visits to onsite locations.
