What are the responsibilities and job description for the Membership and Outreach Coordinator position at Bitterroot Valley Chamber of Commerce?
Primary Objectives –
Assists the Executive Director in handling the day-to-day functions of the Chamber. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for organizing Chamber festivals, celebrations, fundraisers, seminars, membership campaigns, signature networking programs and social events.
- Responsible for membership recruitment and member retention.
- Acts as a liaison between the Chamber and membership
- Greet, assist, direct customers/visitors when front office personnel are not available
- Assist Executive Director, when necessary, with projects or events, preparation of reports or research
- Serves as Executive Director in his/her absence
- Occasionally travel to seminars within the state
- Attend monthly and special Board of Directors meetings as requested by Executive Director
Qualifications and Requirements –
Interpersonal Contact-While performing the duties of this position the employee will interact with other staff, Chamber members, customers, and the public, in a professional and courteous manner that will enhance overall public relations of the Chamber. Strong conflict resolution skills will aid in managing all interpersonal relationships.
Physical Demand and Working Conditions- Regularly required to sit, occasional standing and walking, repeated use of arms, hands, and fingers, must occasionally lift or move 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Skills and Abilities- Ability to type proficiently, use of effective time management and project management techniques, ability to proof read and make corrections, communicate effectively both orally and in writing, work independently under broad objectives with minimum supervision.
- Must know basic computer skills and be able to work with; Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.); will need to become proficient with Chamber Masters, and Canva
- Must have knowledge of the Bitterroot Valley
- Must know marketing and sales
- Must be able to work effectively with others
- Must be able to take direction from Executive Director and Chamber Board
- Must be a self-starter and motivated
- Must be able to delegate and ask questions
- Must be able to multi-task
- Must be organized
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
