The Accounting and HR Specialist is responsible for working with the Controller and President to assist with general accounting, payroll, hiring and maintaining employee records, as well as other administrative and high-level duties. This position offers a versatile and challenging role that combines critical financial interaction and human resources management to support the company's operational success.
Responsibilities:
o Assist Controller with Accounts receivable (includes invoicing and collections).
o Become familiar with customer portals for work requests, invoicing, and updates.
o Hire, onboard and maintain employee records, ensuring compliance with regulations.
o Assist Controller with weekly Payroll processing, ensuring accuracy in union environment.
o Develop strong knowledge of company database and efficient use of same.
o Assist President with Contract review and processing.
o Be a creative thinker and resource to management.
o Conduct professional customer contact, both verbal and written.
o Other basic accounting and payroll duties.
o Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive financial and employee information.
o Work closely with senior management to develop and implement company guidelines.
o Assist with general administrative duties as skills, talents, and interest dictate (examples: safety, project management assistance, marketing, etc.)
Requirements:
o Energetic, can-do attitude, likes variety of daily duties, enjoys learning new skills.
o Prior accounting experience working in the construction field desired.
o Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) are critical.
o Bilingual (English, Spanish) a plus.
o Focus on detail, accuracy & quality.
o Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
o Ability to work with Microsoft products, and learn other software as needed.
o Capability to collaborate with all levels of customers and employees.
o Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent, associate or bachelor’s degree plus.
BL Dalsin offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, retirement package, paid time off, paid holidays. The pay ranges $70,000 to $90,000 based on qualifications and experience.
