What are the responsibilities and job description for the Houseperson position at Blackberry?
The Houseperson is an all-purpose position that assists the housekeeping department by maintaining all guest rooms and common areas' cleanliness.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Deep cleaning room as needed
- Delivers clean linen and supplies to the housekeepers when needed
- Removes soiled linen and trash from the housekeepers when needed
- Load supplies for the day
- Attend line up each morning to receive room assignments
- Restock all housekeeping closets on the property with amenities and linens as necessary
- Golf cart maintenance make sure that carts are cleaned out at the end of the shift and plugged into the charger to prepare for the next shift
- Keep all pantry items in guest rooms stocked and account for all pantry alcohol sales
- Must comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards
- Must maintain regular and consistent attendance
- Must be able to work well with other Team Members, Managers, and interact with our guests
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- None
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- Some cleaning experience preferred
- Ability to be thorough while cleaning
- High school diploma or equivalent
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Must be able to communicate effectively with guests, managers, and team members
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Basic knowledge and understanding of math
REASONING ABILITY
- Must be able to exercise judgment and make decisions based on job knowledge and awareness of company goals
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to stand all-day
- Very physical work, always moving around and lifting, must be able to get on hands and knees to clean
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Must be able to operate a company vehicle or golf cart safely
- Must be able to work around cleaning supplies/chemicals
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Working in guest rooms and common areas of the property
- 5,200 acres of Blackberry Mountain
- Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions
