What are the responsibilities and job description for the Private Owner Housekeeping Supervisor position at Blackberry?
The primary goal of this position is to provide leadership on a nightly basis and to lead the team each night after Managers have departed. Maintain a positive attitude around all team members, setting the mood for that shift. To inspect all turn downs and cleaned rooms to make sure that the Blackberry Standards have been met.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Run the day to day reports for the team & be able to clarify reports, as needed
- Hold lineups with your team covering the # of guest rooms currently occupied, # of arrival rooms, departure rooms, # of turnovers, make-ups and Check ins / turn overs
- Plan evenings according to dining times of guests
- Coordinate in-room guest requests
- Review groups currently in house and their agenda to ensure all needs are met
- Cleaning of the common areas and other assigning areas
- Oversee Completion of all room make-ups and turnovers and perform final inspections after rooms have been cleaned
- Load stocker cart with daily supplies such as sheets, towel, toilet paper, amenities, glasses, coffee cups, hangers, napkins, light bulbs, robes etc.
- Assist in cleaning of check out and stay over rooms as necessary
- Working all holidays and weekends as scheduled
Must comply with all company policies and procedures.
To perform the essential functions of this position regular and consistent attendance in required.
Must be able to work well with other Team Members, Managers and interact with our guests.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow up on team member status of rooms/ assignments
- Guide housekeepers to maintain 5 star standards for all rooms
- Be a positive motivator to the team
- Coach and counsel team members as necessary, including written documentation if applicable
- Complete 45 day reviews for all new hires as well as mid, and end of year reviews, as needed
- Ensure Housekeepers understand their room assignments, and rooms are completed promptly
- Ensure efficiency by coordinating housekeeper's schedules based on needs
- Work closely with the front desk on arrivals and changes
- Basic understanding of labor numbers
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Hospitality experience or equivalent preferred
- Basic computer knowledge
- High School or equivalent
COMPUTER SKILLS
- A working understanding of Microsoft Outlook
- A working understanding of Microsoft Word
- A working understanding of Excel
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Communicate well with the Managers on Duty, the Front Desk for arrivals & departures and the Dining Room Manager
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Understanding of basic math
REASONING ABILITY
- Must be able to understand scheduling, purchasing, inventory and stock
- Must be able to think quickly
- Must be able to exercise judgment and make decisions based on job knowledge and awareness of company goals
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to work long hours
- Must be able to stand or walk for a long period of time
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Must be able to safely operate a company vehicle or golf cart
