ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ability to work directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds.
- Responsible for entering invoice batches into the Accounts Payable module
- Responsible for processing vendor disbursements through electronic funds transfers and printing of physical checks
- Assist in the maintaining and enhancement of existing data systems focusing on Accounts Payable module
- Balancing of accounts payable to the general ledger monthly
- Maintaining payment files for all vendors
- Assist personnel and outside vendors in resolving Accounts Payable related questions and problems
- Processing student refund check batches entered by the Business Office
- Preparing deposits and posting cash receipts for Student Government and Athletic funds
- Provide necessary fixed asset information to the Fixed Asset Administrator
- Assist in pulling files and making necessary copies for capital billing
- Annual processing of 1099s
- Assist Executive Director of Accounting Operations or Accounting Supervisor in obtaining necessary purchase order and payment information as requested by auditors in preparation of the college’s financial audit report
- Assist in year-end analysis of open purchase orders, encumbrances, and outstanding checks
- Perform all other additional duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Accounting Operations or Accounting Supervisor
- Associate’s degree or equivalent college credits (60 credits) in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Accounts Payable
- Strong experience with computerized financial systems; Finance Enterprise software preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong automated system experience including Word and Excel
This is a full-time, twelve-month, non- affiliated administrative position. Working hours will be flexible with some evening and weekend work necessary. Holidays, sick days, vacation days, and other fringe benefits are covered by the College’s policy for full-time administrators.
