Educational and Licensing Requirements:
- Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- State licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in Arizona
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of one year of recent experience as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), preferably in a school setting
- Experience working with pediatric populations and individuals with diverse needs and abilities
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to students as outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with occupational therapists, educators, and other members of the educational team to develop and implement effective treatment plans
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine student needs and develop appropriate intervention strategies
- Monitor student progress and adjust intervention plans as necessary to support academic and functional goals
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of therapy services provided and student progress
- Communicate regularly with parents, caregivers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of therapy services with student needs and goals
