Busy, specialties subcontractor is searching for a Project Estimator to join our Team. This position will be responsible for the takeoffs and administration of the bid process for Division 10 and 12 of projects. All candidates with relevant experience / understanding of the building industry and finishes trades encouraged to apply.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Project Estimator position is one that accurately interprets the plans and adds the tags and mark ups accordingly utilizing take off software, so the cost of construction can be calculated. Scopes of work include window coverings, motorization, bath accessories, mirrors, and shower doors, etc. Estimators also create line drawings and provide supporting documents for Project Managers and Field staff. Specific software training will be provided, if needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Download Architectural Plans
- Perform take offs utilizing estimating software (On-Screen Takeoff)
- Create supporting documentation per Builder requirements (color coded mark-ups, call-outs, etc.)
- Monitor RFIs, analyze and distribute responses.
- Learn Window Coverings and Bath Accessory Operating Systems
- Obtain quotes from manufacturers
- Create bid templates and proposals for submittal to builder clients
Qualifications:
- High School Graduate
- Ability to read and understand architectural plans
- Experience using "take-off" software and preparing bids
- (On-Screen Takeoff preferred)
- Relevant field experience / understanding of the building industry preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (formulas and creating template knowledge preferred)
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Responsible and reliable person
- Good communication skillsWorking Conditions:
Casual office work environment, with a typical business schedule of Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. May have contact with vendors or customers over the phone. Primarily email communication.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
