What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plumbing Trade Instructor position at Blinn College?
Provide the expertise and knowledge to teach credit and non-credit courses in Basic Plumbing. This includes the use of plumbing tools; plumbing math; reading blueprints; using plastic/copper/cast iron/steel pipe and fittings; plumbing fixtures; drain and vent systems, and water distribution
Essential Duties
Teach credit and non-credit classes; continuously review curriculum and methods to improve the quality of instruction; use a variety of hands-on teaching methods to train adults; evaluate student progress and constantly communicate with students and Blinn administration; keep accurate student records and certification files; other duties as assigned
Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Associates degree or higher in Construction Technology, Construction Science, Facilities Maintenance, Plumbing and Pipefitting Technology or related field and 3 years of non-teaching work experience in the field. OR High School Diploma/GED and currently hold a minimum of a Journeyman or Master Plumber License in the State of Texas with 5 years of non-teaching work experience in the field. *Must hold current NCCER teacher certification in teaching discipline or be able to complete within the first 30 days of employment.
Preferred Experience and Training
Master Plumber License in the State of Texas with 5 years of non-teaching work experience in the field. *Must hold current NCCER teacher certification in teaching discipline or be able to complete within the first 30 days of employment.
Physical Requirements
Ability to use a variety of hand tools and plumbing specific tools; able to lift 50 pounds to a height of three feet;
Required Degree, License or Certifications
Minimum high school diploma or GED;
