General Job Description:
The Teaching & Learning Coordinator is tasked with supporting instructional excellence and enhancing teaching practices across the district, with a primary focus on K-8. This role focuses on developing and refining data-driven systems to improve student outcomes, facilitating collaborative teacher professional development, and ensuring alignment with district goals and state standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in K-12.
- Strong knowledge of Professional Learning Communities, Instructional Infrastructure, Curriculum and Materials, and effective teaching and assessment practices.
- Proven experience in building and sustaining productive and collegial relationships.
- Demonstrated communication, organizational, computer, and public relation skills.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with building teachers and administrators
- Ability to perform essential functions
Preferred Qualifications:
- NMPED Issued Level IIIA or Level IIIB license, or the ability to pursue this licensure.
- Better than average recommendations from previous employers and/or other professionals familiar with the applicant’s personal characteristics, academic achievement, and workplace performance.
- Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and data effectively.
- Willingness to carry out other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
Sitting, standing, lifting and carrying (up to 50 lbs.), reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving light furniture may be required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Data Management:
Oversee the revision and implementation of common interim assessments (CIAs) to support data-driven instructional practices.
Provide training and support for data analysis to guide instructional decisions.
Effectively collaborate with the District’s MLSS & Assessment Coordinator.
- Professional Learning Communities (PLCs):
Collaborate with Instructional Resource Specialists and school administrators to establish productive PLCs and be an active participant in the PLC process for grade levels K-8.
Support teachers in planning, data analysis, and implementing effective instructional strategies.
- Instructional Materials:
Organize and oversee the district’s annual instructional materials adoption process.
Manage the annual procurement of instructional materials such as consumables.
Ensure alignment of resources with district goals and state standards, K-12.
- Support for Educators and Schools:
Provide targeted professional development aligned with district and school priorities.
Act as a resource for best practices in teaching and learning to address timely instructional needs. Oversee the District’s 90 day campus improvement planning process, inclusive of reviewer certification, as well as the District’s annual Literacy Plan.
