Job Summary:
The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen at Blowing Rock Country Club (BRCC). This position ensures that all dishes, cookware, and kitchen equipment are properly cleaned and organized to support the culinary team in providing an exceptional dining experience for members and guests. The Dishwasher plays a vital role in keeping the kitchen running smoothly by assisting with waste disposal, cleaning floors, and maintaining general kitchen organization.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience as a dishwasher or in a kitchen environment is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Understanding of basic kitchen sanitation and safety procedures.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods of time.
- Willingness to follow directions and work as part of a team.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
Responsibilities:
- Operate the dishwashing machine and manually wash dishes, glassware, utensils, and cookware as needed.
- Ensure all dishes and kitchen equipment are cleaned and sanitized according to health and safety regulations.
- Organize and store clean dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment properly.
- Empty and clean trash receptacles regularly.
- Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing station, sinks, and surrounding areas.
- Assist in cleaning kitchen floors, walls, and food prep areas as needed.
- Properly handle and dispose of food waste following club guidelines.
- Monitor dishwashing equipment and report any maintenance or repair needs.
- Assist with unloading deliveries and organizing kitchen storage areas when needed.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a clean and safe work environment.
- Support kitchen staff by providing clean tools and equipment as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Supervisor.
This is a seasonal position. Blowing Rock Country Club is open April 18 until October 26.
We pay a solid hourly wage, provide complimentary employee meals, uniforms and offer a Scholarship Program through Appalachian State University.
