Join our team as a Licensed HVAC Technician or Licensed Building Engineer, where you'll perform complex technical work on a journeyman level, overseeing and maintaining commercial building systems. This role includes leadership responsibilities as an onsite supervisor for a team of six maintenance technicians, including a licensed plumber, licensed electrician, and general maintenance staff.
Key Responsibilities

HVAC Systems & Maintenance:
- Install, operate, maintain, service, and repair commercial HVAC systems, including chillers (200 tons), cooling towers, air-handling units, and pumps.
- Perform preventive maintenance: change filters, clean coils, flush condensers, grease bearings, inspect belts, and align shafts.
- Monitor and maintain chemical treatment systems for water cooling towers and chilled water systems.

Building Systems Expertise:
- Perform maintenance across electrical, lighting, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, painting, masonry, flooring, and hardware systems.
- Inspect and maintain fire pumps, backup generators, sump pumps, ejector pumps, and other utility systems.
- Demonstrate knowledge of chiller plant operations, redundancy systems, and emergency protocols.

Supervision & Leadership:
- Oversee and support subcontractors and internal staff in maintenance tasks.
- Provide guidance and ensure compliance with industry standards and protocols.
Qualifications

Licenses & Certifications (Required):
- Journeyman HVAC License or DC 3rd Class Engineer License (or equivalent in a reciprocity jurisdiction).
- Universal CFC certification.
- Federal clearance for building access (Public Trust Clearance).

Preferred Qualifications:
- OSHA 10 Training, OSHA Asbestos Awareness.
- UST Class C Certification.

Experience:
- Minimum 5 years (within the past 7 years) of HVAC/Engineering experience in O&M/Facilities Management for large-scale buildings (~1 million sq. ft.).
- At least 5 years of supervisory experience managing trades staff.
- Proficiency in brazing, soldering, and determining proper BTU sizing for heating/cooling.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (50 pounds) such as ductwork or furnaces.
- Comfortable working in various environments (e.g., crawl spaces, utility areas) and performing physical tasks such as kneeling, climbing, and pushing/pulling.
- Frequent standing, bending, and movement throughout commercial buildings, including stairs.
Schedule
- Monday – Friday | 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
