BRCC is seeking a part-time Student Success Advisor to engage with BRCC students, build meaningful relationships, and offer personalized coaching and support. This position is a key part of the Student Success Center team, and will provide comprehensive case management to address students' social, emotional, and academic needs.
This is a part-time wage position, limited to 1500 hours in a 12-month period, with no benefits. Potential eligibility for educational assistance for BRCC classes as well as training and/or certifications.
The Student Success Advisor will:

The Student Success Advisor will:
- Provide student success and academic support for students through success coaching and monitoring of the EAB Navigate Early Alert System.
- Communicate with faculty regarding Early Alert support and student needs, as appropriate.
- Actively support “at risk” students, including those on Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) Warning, SAP Suspension, Academic Warning, and Academic Probation.
- Assist students navigate the SAP Appeal process, offering individual and/or group sessions to develop success contracts. Follow-up with students each semester to track progress and provide resources and coaching support.
- Meet with students individually and/or in groups, to discuss student success skills and academic challenges related to motivation, time management, study skills, life balance, etc.
- Collaborate with other units in the Student Success Center: Career Services, Student Accessibility, and the SOAR (Student Outreach and Resource) Center.
- Serve as a back-up to the SOAR Coordinator to assist students who may be dealing with food insecurity, housing insecurity, or other financial challenges.
- Provide students with referrals to other BRCC resources, as needed.
- Keep accurate and timely records using appropriate software system(s).
- Communicate with students in a variety of ways: in-person, Zoom, telephone, text (through EAB Navigate), and e-mail.
- Participate in ongoing professional development as required and/or relevant to the position.
- Knowledge of student success, coaching, and retention strategies
- Knowledge of services, programs, and resources to support student success
- Outstanding verbal and written customer service skills
- Strong problem-solving skills to address student issues and support their success
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population and foster an inclusive environment
- Ability to interact effectively with stakeholders, including prospective and current students and their families, faculty and staff, and community partners
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Technical skills: experience and ability to use and learn multiple computer programs/systems
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to track, manage and use student data for departmental purposes
- Experience in social work, human services, success coaching or academic advising
