Job Summary:
The High School Assistant Principal supports the Principal in providing instructional leadership, administrative oversight, and operational management to ensure a safe, effective, and engaging learning environment. This role focuses on student achievement, staff development, discipline, and fostering a positive school culture aligned with the district’s mission and educational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Instructional Leadership:
- Assist in developing and implementing curriculum and instructional programs aligned with Arizona state standards.
- Support teachers in instructional strategies, lesson planning, and professional growth.
- Analyze student performance data to drive decision-making and improve academic outcomes.
- Promote and support professional development opportunities for faculty and staff.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal educational regulations.
Student Discipline & School Climate:
- Enforce school policies and procedures regarding student behavior and discipline.
- Implement restorative practices and intervention strategies to support student success.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and counselors to address student concerns.
- Foster a positive and inclusive school climate that encourages student engagement and success.
Operations & Administration:
- Assist in developing and managing school budgets, schedules, and resources.
- Supervise school facilities and ensure a safe learning environment.
- Oversee extracurricular activities, athletics, and student organizations.
- Coordinate safety protocols and emergency preparedness plans.
Staff Supervision & Evaluation:
- Participate in the recruitment, hiring, and evaluation of faculty and staff.
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and performance feedback to teachers and support staff.
- Support a collaborative and professional school culture.
Community & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build strong relationships with students, families, and the local community.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and school initiatives.
- Partner with local businesses, organizations, and stakeholders to support student learning.
Work Environment & Expectations:
- Work primarily in a school setting with interaction with students, staff, and parents.
- Evening and weekend commitments for school events and activities.
