What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tool Crib Attendant position at Blue Ridge Metals Corp.?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
· Ability to fully understand and use micrometers and calipers
· Compliance with all OSHA regulations
· Follow all safety rules and report any unsafe conditions
· Properly use any personal protection equipment and comply with 5S guidelines to insure a clean and organized work place are essential.
· Training in safe operation of forklift, crane and other department equipment.
· Issue out tooling and spare parts.
· Responsible for maintaining stored items and spare parts.
· Label tool storage bins.
· Receive, visually inspect and store tooling and spare parts in their proper place.
· Monitor tool inventory.
· Receive CYC tooling and repair parts.
· Receive Tool Life Sheets from production and forward them to engineering.
· Conduct physical inventory on tools as Tool Life Sheets are turned in and report those sheets to engineering.
· In Excel format, report out daily tooling issue and spare parts sheets each morning for the previous production day (print out for engineering to review each morning.)
· Gather all tooling from the previous day with any abnormal sheets and place them on counter for engineering review – Assist engineering with review and disposition.
· Enter daily total in the monthly usage tracking sheet.
5S Activities:
1. Dust, vacuum or wipe down new cold form and press tooling in inventory
2. Sweep the floors in the Tooling shop on a weekly basis and mop as needed.
3. Maintain Tool Crib in an organized manner/orderly and maintained. All tools shall be in the correct location with a label on the shelf or bin. Location should match the shelf location in the inventory system.
4. When receiving tooling, all plastic wrappers and bags from tooling will need to be removed before entering the tooling into inventory. All tooling must be inspected for any shipping damage or abnormal conditions. If tooling is damaged, report to Engineering.
5. Do full physical inventory of all tooling and spare parts, every six months with some support from Engineering.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
· High school diploma or General Education diploma (GED) and one to three months related experience and/or training.
· Must be computer literate and knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel is helpful.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
· Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
· Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
· Must be able to clearly, calmly, and effectively communicate to other employees, engineering, and management.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
· Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
· Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
