Your Role

The Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO) is responsible for ensuring Blue Shield of California delivers our enterprise goals and strategic priorities and attaining business value through portfolio initiatives Lean Portfolio Management and Value Management industry best practices. The Strategic Planning and Performance Consultant will report to the Senior Manager. In this role you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing initiatives on our capability roadmap and supporting our planning processes. This role will be a liaison between portfolio leaders and other enterprise teams. Our team focuses on building capabilities through collaboration and influence, partnering across the entire organization. Your Work

In this role, you will:

  • Be responsible for planning and implementation of moderately complex projects
  • Responsible for facilitating annual and quarterly strategic planning process
  • Recommend effective action plans based on key business issues and implements to successful conclusion
  • Responsible for portfolio performance analysis, identifying risks and opportunities, formulate recommendations, creating performance dashboards and executive level presentations
  • Manages the execution of monthly and quarterly enterprise deliverables
  • Responsible for making moderate to significant improvements of processes, systems or products to enhance performance of job area
  • Acts as a liaison with portfolio leaders and other enterprise teams

Your Knowledge and Experience

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Requires at least 7 years of prior relevant experience in lean portfolio management, project management and agile delivery
  • Requires a proven track record of company-wide contributions
  • Requires accountability, adaptability, and experience influencing and leading cross-functional teams to meaningful results
  • Requires understanding of business organization and culture and the ability to think conceptually and design solutions through collaboration
  • Requires advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Jira, and Planview or similar portfolio management systems
  • Prior experience leading strategic planning, enterprise roadmap development, and advising engagements with and for senior leadership

Pay Range:

The pay range for this role is: $ 119130.00 to $ 178860.00 for California.

Note:

Please note that this range represents the pay range for this and many other positions at Blue Shield that fall into this pay grade. Blue Shield salaries are based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, location (California, Bay area, or outside California), and current employee salaries for similar roles.

Two Ways of Working:

  • Hybrid (Default): Work from a business unit-approved office at least two (2) times per month (for roles below Director-level) or once per week (for Director-level roles and above). Exceptions:

    • Member-facing and approved out-of-state roles remain remote.

    • Employees living more than 50 miles from their assigned offices are expected to work with their managers on a plan for periodic office visits.

    • For employees with medical conditions that may impact their ability to work in-office, we are committed to engaging in an interactive process and providing reasonable accommodations to ensure their work environment is conducive to their success and well-being.

  • On-Site: Work from a business unit-approved office an average of four (4) or more days a week.

Physical Requirements:

Office Environment - roles involving part to full time schedule in Office Environment. Based in our physical offices and work from home office/deskwork - Activity level: Sedentary, frequency most of work day.
