Position Summary

Assist in the operation of Injection Molding presses with proficiency while meeting quality, productivity, waste, cost, housekeeping and safety goals in accordance with standard procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices. The Technician is responsible for following all developed processing guides, documenting tool repairs, and helping maintain an inventory of spare die components. Maintaining quality standards of molded product and ensuring satisfactory delivery of assembly components to our internal customers. Work with limited supervision and maintain an atmosphere of cooperation among and between shifts, mold repair, quality control, assembly, and management to attain departmental goals.

Responsibilities

· Troubleshoot and resolve processing problems with injection molding machines.

· Responsible for cleanliness and orderly condition of a designated area of the molding department.

· Observance of all safety and environmental procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices.

· Set-up and start-up Molding Machines and auxiliary equipment.

· Relay pertinent product and quality-related information to Operators, Inspectors, Supervisors and peers – written and verbal

· Accurately records and reports waste, and assist departmental supervision in maintaining inventory control.

· Diagnose tooling problems and perform minor repairs

· Perform first shot inspections and confirm job is ready for production.

· May troubleshoot electrical problems with dies and barrel heats, mix plastic resin with colorants and additives, relieve operators at break times, and engage in material handling.

· Verifies and monitors machine cycles and cavitations’.

· Identifies waste in the process and minimizes downtime.

· Maintains clean working conditions in assigned areas and reports any safety hazards immediately.

· Must be able to operate a forklift safely.

· Transportation of raw materials and finished goods to and from molding area as needed for production.

· Perform miscellaneous duties as required by supervision.

· Include answering Operator, machine, or equipment alarms as needed.

Job Skill Requirements

· High school diploma or equivalent; and three years related experience and/or training.

· Physical Requirements, Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physically able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach and move across uneven surfaces. Ability to stand most of the shift.

· Ability to recognize visual defects as defined by product specifications, knows what to do if recognized. Exercises discriminatory judgments, Strong oral and written communications skills. Must be able to read, write and verbally communicate effectively.

· Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills and/or abilities. To perform this job successfully, the candidate will possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Required)
