Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Billing and Coding Specialist to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately processing patient information, coding medical diagnoses and procedures, and ensuring timely billing for services rendered. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and billing practices to support our organization in delivering high-quality patient care.

$16 to $18 based on experience and education

Responsibilities:
- Familiarity with healthcare billing and coding.
- Ability to interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and remittance advice.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills, especially in resolving insurance claim issues.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using medical billing software and electronic health records.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and compliance.
- Ability to always maintain patient confidentiality.
- Codes diagnosis and CPT for office and Chiropractic services for providers.
- Ensure the accuracy of patient registration information.
- Regularly check websites associated with designated payers for eligibility and claim status and stay updated with any changes.
- Conduct timely follow-up for all Payer Rejections from your designated payer that come through the Clearinghouse.
- Review all claim denials and remittance rejections for accuracy of charges and appropriate billing edits, make necessary corrections and re-file charges to the insurance company, or determine if the balance is self-pay or a contractual adjustment.
- Proven experience as an Insurance Follow-Up Specialist or in a similar role within the healthcare industry.
- Demonstrable knowledge of insurance follow-up processes.
- We are offering a non-Remote, permanent position as an Insurance Billing Specialist in the chiropractic located in Danville Kentucky. This role involves managing all initial billing procedures for payers through both paper and electronic claim submissions and maintaining updated knowledge of billing requirements for all payers.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
