Junior Laboratory Technician (Onsite)

We are actively seeking to identify a Junior Laboratory Technician to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) in conducting research, development, and testing of advanced defense technologies.
Position Description:
The Junior Laboratory Technician will support for Research and Development (R&D) and Science and Technology (S&T) laboratory programs, supporting R&D, S&T, and experimentation and testing to influence system design and development for a broad spectrum of technologies. These technologies will include development and testing of prototypes and biological systems to support biological defense.
Responsibilities:
- Set up, perform, and evaluate chemical, biological, and/or physical tests and experiments following documented protocols under direct supervision.
- Operate and maintain a variety of laboratory test equipment, including pipettes, immunoassay, and Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) devices.
- Prepare and process experimental formulations, ensuring precise calibration, sampling, and adherence to experimental techniques.
- Assist in developing and documenting scientific test procedures and maintaining accurate experimental records.
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis of materials in support of research and development projects.
- Operating a wide variety of laboratory test equipment, apparatus, and methods including pipettes, immunoassay, and Polymerase Chain Reaction.
- Preparing and processing experimental operations involving complex formulations, precise calibration, sampling, experimental techniques, and test concepts.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree or higher from an accredited university in biology, chemistry, or related discipline.
- Physical/biological/chemical science or equivalent entry-level experience.
- Setting up, performing, and evaluating chemical, biological and/or physical tests and experiments following documented protocols and procedures under direct supervision.
- Familiarity with a wide variety of laboratory test equipment, apparatus and methods including pipettes, immunoassay and Polymerase Chain Reaction.
- Familiarity with preparation and processes for experimental operations involving formulations, precise calibration, sampling, experimental techniques and concepts.
- Familiarity with scientific test procedures and documentation.
