Laboratory Materials Technician (Onsite)

We are actively seeking to identify a Laboratory Materials Technician to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) in conducting research, development, and testing of advanced defense technologies.
Position Description:
The Laboratory Materials Technician will support for Research and Development (R&D) and Science and Technology (S&T) laboratory programs, supporting R&D, S&T, and experimentation and testing to influence system design and development for a broad spectrum of technologies. These technologies will include development and testing of prototypes and biological systems to support biological defense.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately maintain and update laboratory records and documentation.
- Diagnose, repair, and assist with the installation of laboratory equipment.
- Track and manage laboratory equipment maintenance and repair logs.
- Perform data entry tasks, calibrate laboratory instruments, and replenish necessary supplies.
- Ensure proper upkeep and organization of the laboratory environment.
- Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, to document findings and report results.
- Maintain records and document laboratory processes accurately.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and support the installation of laboratory equipment.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Maintaining records as well as experience in analysis and repair of electronic equipment.
- Maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting the installation of laboratory equipment.
- Maintaining logs and records for laboratory equipment maintenance and repair.
- Executing data entry, calibration of lab equipment, restocking of laboratory supplies, general laboratory maintenance and other laboratory support functions.
- Communicating effectively orally and in writing.
Desired Requirements:
- Two (2) years of experience working in related research laboratory environment.
