Job Title: Leasing Assistant
Salary Range: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-time / Seasonal (March – August, September)
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Property Locations: Albemarle County, VA
Mileage Compensation: Daily travel in personal vehicle required. Mileage compensated at current government rate.
Job Overview: BlueSky Property Management is seeking a dedicated Leasing Assistant who is enthusiastic, organized, and detail oriented. This role is crucial in supporting the Leasing Manager and involves significant daily travel to show properties to prospective tenants within Albemarle County, VA.
The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include assisting with leasing activities, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring smooth operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Property Showings: Travel to various properties daily using a personal vehicle to conduct tours for prospective tenants. Provide detailed information about the properties and answer any questions.
- Leasing Operations: Support the Leasing Manager in developing and implementing leasing strategies. Assist with tenant lease renewals, prepare lease agreements, and negotiate lease terms.
- Tenant Management: Ensure a positive tenant experience by addressing any issues promptly and professionally. Act as a liaison between tenants and property owners.
- Application Processing: Fully process rental applications, including running background checks and notifying applicants of decisions. Respond to inquiries via email, phone, and text.
- Marketing: Assist in creating and executing marketing plans to promote available properties. Utilize online listings, social media, and local advertising.
- Compliance: Ensure all leasing activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations. Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the Leasing Manager, including scheduling tours, sending leases, and maintaining records.
- Customer Service: Resolve tenant complaints with a customer service approach.
- Other Duties: Perform other duties as requested and assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Reliable transportation for daily travel
- Proficient in email and Microsoft Office
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Excellent customer service skills with a "Go the Extra Mile" attitude
- Real Estate License preferred
- Fair Housing Certificate preferred
- 1-2 years of administrative experience preferred
- Previous experience in leasing or property management preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent education; college degree preferred
- Experience with Tenant Turner, AppFolio and RingCentral or similar property management software preferred
