We're looking for a Product Owner (Component Owner) to lead high-impact initiatives and bring cutting-edge solutions to life. Join our dynamic and collaborative team to transform ideas into scalable, customer-focused products.

Why This Role Matters

Your expertise will drive the development of secure, scalable, and high-performing data management ecosystems that protect mission-critical systems and sensitive data. This Product Owner role is critical to support Bluestaq's Cybersecurity Team, ensuring that security is embedded in every aspect of product development, compliance is met, and cyber risks are proactively mitigated.

As cyber threats evolve, regulatory requirements tighten, and security demands increase, we need a Product Owner who can bridge the gap between cybersecurity, engineering, and product development. If you thrive on solving complex security challenges, refining agile processes, and ensuring secure product delivery, this is your opportunity to shape the future of cybersecurity at Bluestaq.

Your Mission

As a Product Owner you will be the critical link between the Cybersecurity Team, product development, and key stakeholders. You'll translate high-level security goals into actionable strategies, prioritize cybersecurity initiatives, manage timelines, and ensure the timely implementation of security best practices and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Cybersecurity Team by defining and prioritizing initiatives that enhance security, risk management, and compliance across Bluestaq's technology stack.
  • Translate cybersecurity objectives into actionable technical plans with clear documentation and artifacts.
  • Communicate security vision and priorities, ensuring alignment across engineering, security teams, and stakeholders.
  • Own backlog management-create, refine, and prioritize security-related backlog items to meet compliance and security milestones.
  • Develop and execute security roadmaps, defining epics and initiatives to achieve key security and compliance objectives.
  • Utilize platforms like Jira and Confluence to manage cybersecurity resources and workflows efficiently.
  • Define security requirements and acceptance criteria, ensuring that security efforts align with product development cycles.
  • Proactively identify risks and vulnerabilities, working with engineers to mitigate threats before they impact operations.
  • Analyze security performance metrics, incident reports, and compliance data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop training materials, and best practice guides to enhance security awareness and readiness.

Who You Are

You are a detail-oriented, execution-driven professional who thrives at the intersection of cybersecurity, agile methodologies, and product ownership. With a mix of technical expertise, strong communication skills, and a passion for secure systems, you understand how to prioritize security initiatives, drive collaboration, and ensure cyber resilience.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in cybersecurity, software development, or technical project management.
  • Hands-on experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Strong Agile expertise-SCRUM knowledge is a big plus.
  • Preferred certifications: CSPO, SAFe POPM, PMP, or PMI-ACP.
  • Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, RMF, and Zero Trust architectures.
  • Experience with security automation tools, threat modeling, and vulnerability management is a plus.
  • Exceptional ability to simplify and articulate complex security concepts for various audiences.
