COMPENSATION: Train Dispatcher trainees are paid approximately $172.71 per day while completing 11 weeks of classroom training. Trainees are compensated at 80% of the full rate ($368.20) during the probationary period, in which trainees must successfully work 90 solo shifts to become a fully qualified train dispatcher. Full rate of pay is $460.25 per 8 hour shift, subject to the terms of the collective bargining agreement.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: This position is responsible for providing for the safe and efficient movement of trains over an assigned district, in accordance with BNSF's operating rules and practices. Concurrently, must also allow for the maximum utilization of maintenance forces by optimizing the time available for inspection, repair and capital improvement of the railroad track structure and signals.
REPORTING: Maintain detailed and accurate records of train movement and track maintenance schedules using a variety of manual processes and computerized software applications.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 18 years of age, or will be by the start date listed above.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must have4-yeardegree or equivalent combination of education and/or work/military experience.
- Able to work safely in the above working conditions,
Able toworkthe above shift/hours.
Ability to report for duty at the designated work location.
- Able to read, write and communicate (speak, hear and understand) English, as well as issue oral instructions clearly and accurately using a variety of communication devices.
- Able to visually distinguish among colors on a computer display screen and distinguish specific auditory information from background and/or competing sounds.
- Able to sustain concentration on processing multiple information inputs for extended periods of time.
- Able to sit for extended periods of time.
- Able to accurately input data into computer systems.

COMPENSATION
- Average annual salary of$95,732 - $119,665 is for an employee with 3 - 5 years of seniority and depends on hours worked, which could include overtime, per diem, and other union-negotiated wages.
