Pershing LLC seeks a Senior Vice President, Mainframe Engineer for its Jersey City, NJ location.
DUTIES: Consult with internal business groups to provide appropriate application software development services or technical support. Provide application software development services or technical support in more complex situations. Conduct reviews of the test Plan and test Data and coordinate work within a team/project. Perform the technical design, development and documentation of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems. Analyze, define and document requirements for data, workflow, and logical processes and interface with other systems. Ensure that expected application performance levels are achieved by coordinating, coding, testing, implementation and documentation. Program well-designed, testable, efficient code and analyze, design and develop tests and test-automation suites. Develop flowcharts, layouts and documentation to satisfy requirements and solutions. Maintain software functionality and currency (technical debt and gain). Participate in code reviews and integrate software components into a fully functional software system. Apply security and privacy principles and execute full lifecycle software development. Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing systems. Ensure software is updated with latest features. Participate in deployment process following all change controls. Provide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements in existing systems and platforms. Provide recommendations for continuous improvement. Demonstrate teamwork and leverage existing products/functionality and promote reuse. Work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices. Collaborate cross-functionally with data engineers, business users, project managers and other engineers to achieve elegant solutions. Utilize local meetups to gain and share knowledge. Compile documentation written by more senior developers of all procedures used in system. Remote work may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, and nine (9) years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation in the financial services industry. Nine (9) years of experience must include: Utilizing mainframe technologies including COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, CICS and MQ involving capability of designing, developing, maintaining, and optimizing mainframe applications and system; Developing Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to expose mainframe functionalities for integration with modern application and systems with user interface (UI); Enabling seamless data exchange and interoperability in a hybrid IT environment; Utilizing DevOps principles and practices, including continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automate the build, test, and deployment processes for modernized mainframe applications, ensuring fast and reliable software delivery; Designing and developing transaction processing systems tailored for clearance and settlement workflows including trade processing, trade confirmation/affirmation, segregation, delivery management, buy in process, and global settlement finality; and Utilizing messaging protocols including SWIFT (Society for worldwide interbank financial telecommunication) and ISO 20022 for facilitating communication and data exchange between trading partners, clearing houses, and settlement systems. Pershing LLC assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary/range for this position is expected to be $173,400.00 to $246,000.00 USD/yr per year at the commencement of employment. Base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the Pershing, LLC total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will, and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
