What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Registration Clerk (Democrat) position at Board Official, Lucas County Board of Elections?
Must be a registered Democrat
To declare your political party affiliation you must select a partisan ballot in an even year Primary Election. This includes the upcoming election.
Normal Office Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Monday – Friday)
(21 hour work week, will be scheduled within the above hours, hours may increase during election cycles)
Salary Range: $14.38 - $17.69 per hour
Status: Part Time - Non-Bargaining Unit - Benefits
Summary of Responsibilities
Reports to the Voter Services Supervisor; Responsible for the accurate and timely data entry of all registration information including, but not limited to, new registrations, address changes, deletions, corrections and name changes; Performs various clerical duties relating to registration and/or AVB and mails out prescribed correspondence attendant thereto; Processes all candidate, initiative and referendum petitions as required by law; Researches and troubleshoots both AVB applications/registration problems; Maintains all related records and files as described above in accordance with Directives set by the Ohio Secretary of State; Responsible for processing absentee applications/voter registration forms and answering telephone inquiries regarding the same; Assembling/mailing absentee ballot packets to voters; Ability to be cross trained to assist Field Operations staff at the warehouse for miscellaneous duties as
needed. Must maintain confidentiality and business integrity; Performs all other duties as assigned, by the Supervisor/Director/Deputy Director, the Board of Elections, and/or as prescribed by law.
Minimum Qualifications
· High School Diploma or Equivalent
· Excellent organizational skills
· Excellent interpersonal skills which include effective verbal and written communications;
· Demonstrates adaptability, flexibility, and dependability
· Self-motivated and able to work well under pressure
· Must be PC literate with a command of MS Office applications
· Must demonstrate the ability to create spreadsheets and databases using MS Excel and Access
-Ability to Type 40 WPM
· Must maintain an ongoing understanding of changes in Federal and State Statutory Requirements affecting the Election process
· Demonstrates a professional attitude and appearance
