SUMMARY
The Base Area Activities Lead operator is responsible for the safe, fun, and efficient operations of the Base Area Activities at Bogus Basin. The Summer Base Area Activities Leas Operator is charged with effectively communicating with the guests and staff to assure the highest level of operator professionalism as well as the smooth/ efficient and safe operations of Base Area Activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
- Hire, train, schedule, and supervise all Base Area Activities Operators.
- Maintain all activities to manufacturer’s recommended levels.
- Perform daily, weekly, monthly inspections on all activities to ensure safe operations.
- Assist and advise in implementing preventative maintenance plans for all activities.
- Communicate and coordinate with other departments as needed.
- Document all work done on equipment and activities.
- Responsible for creating an excellent guest experience which includes assisting in the resolution of guest service issues.
- Follow all department and company safety practices and procedures.
- Report guest service, maintenance, and operator issues to the Base Area Activities Supervisor
- Additional Functions of the job
- Assist with special projects including other departments’ projects, as needed.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Assists in evacuations of the area.
- Ability to make sound decisions under stressful situations.
- Demonstrated ability to perform multiple tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
- Maintain a professional attitude toward guests and staff.
Requirements
- Passionate about Bogus Basin’s Mission.
- Ability to work with people of all ages, especially children.
- Strong written and verbal skills.
- Working knowledge of outdoor recreation and activities associated with Bogus Basin’s summer operation.
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
- Ability to lift 50lbs.
- Valid Class D Driver’s License.
- Ability to maintain summer activities equipment.
- Capable of supervising multiple employees while handling competing priorities.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Ability to pass a background check.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to work in high, precarious places and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Physical Demands
The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit.
Schedule
Schedule will be full time, adjusted for seasonal operations and maintenance.
