SUMMARY:
Summer Activities Operators help create memorable experiences for guests through excellent guest service, daily equipment inspections, operation and safety briefings, and a variety of other related tasks on the mountain coaster and base area.
(Ideal Candidate will be able to work May 29th - October 6th, including holidays.)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
- Promote safety by following safe practices; perform daily safety checks of the summer activities, including mountain coaster and fun zone.
- Assume responsible charge of the mountain coaster and fun zone.
- Assist in maintaining condition of entire coaster, including top and bottom stations, sleds and track; and fun zone, including bungee trampolines, rock climbing wall, summer tubing and sluice box.
- Advise and assist guests using the mountain coaster and fun zone; provide excellent guest service.
- Maintain orderly passenger traffic within the operations of the mountain coaster and fun zone.
- Advise the Lead Operator, Supervisor, and/or Manager of any condition or occurrence that may adversely affect the safety of operations.
- Maintain a professional attitude toward all staff, supervisors, and other departments.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
- Assist in mountain coaster and fun zone rescue and evacuation efforts.
- Assist in mountain emergency situations.
- Perform other duties, as required.
Requirements
- Passionate about Bogus Basin’s Mission and Values.
- Ability to work with people of all ages, especially children.
- Ability to make sound decisions under stressful situations.
- Demonstrated ability to perform multiple tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
- Ability to regularly lift/move up to 25lbs and frequently lift/move up to 50lbs.
- Regularly required to stand, walk; and use hands to handle, feel, and reach.
- Frequently required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk and hear. Occasionally required to sit.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Minimum age 15 years old to work in the fun zone and 16 to work on the mountain coaster.
- Ability to perform essential duties efficiently and accurately, with or without supervision, and without injury to yourself or others.
SCHEDULE
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
- Schedule will vary based on the needs of the department and operating hours.
- Full-time employees are required to work five shifts per week.
- Part-time employees are required to work two shifts per week.
- Any changes to a scheduled shift must be approved by a supervisor.
PERSONAL APPERANCE
When in the public eye, your personal appearance is an important part of the product we offer our guests. You should come to work neatly groomed and in uniform. In addition to the provided uniform shirt, hat, and jacket; operators need the following clothing:
- Black, Khaki, or Grey pants or shorts suitable for a dynamic mountain environment
- Sturdy footwear for hiking, climbing and generally navigating uneven surfaces.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Outdoor environment; exposed to inclement weather and adverse conditions.
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- Frequently exposed to work in high places and vibration.
- Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock.
