OPPORTUNITY: Report to Corporate Controller & CFO while partnering with FP&A, operations, supply chain and 35 US sales locations. Develop detailed P&L and accounting reports and focus on key initiatives to maximize ERP technology to automate and enhance manual processes in the accounting/reporting function. Support the consolidation of the monthly results needed for dashboards and Board packages.
Provide management with detailed accounting reports enabling leadership to manage their operating locations and customers understanding revenues, margins and trends. Key responsibilities are as follows:
- Accounting & Financial Reporting:Responsibility for month end close, GAAP financial reporting, general accounting, KPI metrics, fixed assets, inventory, and controls. Manage intercompany transactions and reporting. Prepare actual to budget P&L and balance sheet account analysis/reconciliations by location.
- Financial Reporting:Support a multi-location North American consolidations.
- Inventory Control: Report inventory and analyze inventory volume and turn (mix/volume/location).
- Accounting Policy & Procedures: Ensure accounting policies and procedures are adhered to and standardized amongst all operating locations including newly acquired businesses.
- Audit & Taxes: Liaise with internal auditors on annual financial audit.
- Cost Accounting: Interface with purchasing on vendor contracts; evaluate capital expenditure and supply chain costs; and freight and transportation costs. Analyze product costs by product and cost center.
- Treasury: Complete bank account reconciliations. Act as a liaison with treasury/credit card teams on POS transactions and credit card fees.
- Financial Analysis: Analyze monthly financial and operating results, actual vs. budget variances, sales by customer, contract, product/product line; and cost center performance. Create Excel financial models for analysis while partnering with the FP&A team. Partner with purchasing on vendor contracts; evaluate cost variances (assess the effect) and capital expenditures and supply chain costs.
- Sales & Commission Analysis: Participate in month end as it relates to commission and rebate accruals, A/R reserves and VCP review.
- Process Improvements: Streamline month end close thru ERP NetSuite utilization; create an improved management reports package. Various process improvements focused initiatives. Expert level in MS Excel and PowerPoint advanced functions.
REQUIREMENTS: BS Accounting & Finance. Seek 5 years of public accounting/private industry experience. Will consider straight out of public accounting! Advanced Excel, and prefer working knowledge of SAP, Oracle, JDE, NetSuite, and/or PeopleSoft required. Best suited is an accounting professional groomed in a retail and/or distribution based business with multiple US sale and/or service offices who understands shipping and receiving.
REWARD: $90,000 - 120,000 (depending on experience) plus 5% target bonus.
