What are the responsibilities and job description for the SERVER- Grove Events position at Bohemian Club?
The Bohemian Grove is situated on 2,700 acres of towering redwood forest in the lower Russian River Valley in Sonoma County. For more than 150 years Club members and their guests have ventured to the Grove to enjoy and partake in the arts, music, literature and drama as well as nature walks and fine dining.

Spring Jinks - Monday, June 9th - Sunday, June 15th
Spring Picnic - June 28
Encampment - Monday, July 7th - Sunday, August 1st
Restaurant Server ( There is only one Server title)
This position, like most at the Grove, is performed outdoors. It is beautiful and you are surrounded by ancient redwoods while working alongside like minded a friendly individuals.
DUTIES
- Check with members to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.
- Explain how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients, and cooking methods.
- Inform members of daily specials.
- Answer questions about menu items, making recommendations upon request.
- Remove dishes and glasses from tables or counters and take them to kitchen for cleaning.
- Serve food and/or beverages to members.
- Stock service areas with supplies such as coffee, food, tableware, and linens.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 18 years or older.
- Ability to repeatedly lift and carry a tray weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to communicate in English (listening, understanding, and responding) with members/guests/co-workers in a loud, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to stand, walk, lift, and carry a tray for long periods of time.
- Ability to work outdoors.
- Ability to work a straight 8hr shift or two 4hr split shifts. *

OTHER
Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the Club. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with Bohemian Club rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the Club’s facilities. Employees who violate Club rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Criminal Background Check Required
California law provides most employees with the right to have an unpaid 30-minute meal period if they work more than 5 hours, and the right to have at least one paid ten-minute rest break if they work at least 3.5 hours in a day, and a second paid ten-minute break if they work at least 6 hours.
