Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Spravato Technician to join our team and support the safe and effective administration of Spravato (esketamine) treatments to patients. The Spravato Technician will work closely with medical providers, clinical staff, and patients to ensure a smooth and safe treatment experience. This role requires a high level of professionalism, technical knowledge, and excellent interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Preparation and Monitoring:
- Assist in preparing patients for Spravato treatment, including taking vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, etc.) and ensuring patients meet eligibility criteria.
- Monitor patients during and after the administration of Spravato, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Administer supportive care and respond to any immediate concerns or side effects as directed by the supervising clinician.
- Treatment Administration Support:
- Assist in the preparation and setup of Spravato treatment rooms, ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are available and functioning.
- Administer Spravato under the supervision of a licensed healthcare provider, adhering to prescribed protocols and safety guidelines.
- Prepare and store medications according to safety regulations, ensuring compliance with all relevant medical guidelines.
- Documentation and Record Keeping:
- Accurately document patient information, including vital signs, treatment details, and any observed reactions or side effects in the medical record.
- Maintain a clean and organized record of Spravato inventory, ensuring proper stock levels and timely reordering of supplies.
- Patient Education and Communication:
- Educate patients about the Spravato treatment process, potential side effects, and safety measures.
- Provide emotional support to patients before, during, and after their treatment sessions.
- Ensure clear communication between patients and clinical staff, answering any questions or concerns patients may have regarding their treatment.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all medical protocols and regulatory requirements for administering Spravato, including infection control procedures and emergency protocols.
- Ensure all required consent forms are obtained from patients prior to treatment.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations at all times.
- Collaboration and Team Support:
- Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other medical staff to provide coordinated care to patients undergoing Spravato treatment.
- Attend regular team meetings to discuss patient progress, treatment outcomes, and any necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or higher in a related healthcare field preferred.
- Certifications/Training:
- CPR/BLS certification required.
- Additional certifications in pharmacology, medication administration, or related fields are a plus.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical or healthcare setting, preferably in psychiatry, mental health, or infusion therapy.
- Experience with ketamine or Spravato treatments is preferred but not required.
- Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress situations.
- Proficient in basic medical equipment and patient monitoring devices.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
