Title: Engineered Materials Administrator
Position Overview:
The Engineered Materials Administrator is responsible for maintaining, coordinating, and administering tasks related to the selection and ordering of raw materials and products for engineering activities. This role also supports engineers in parts development and materials selection, ensuring accurate and timely management of engineering materials within the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. The position may involve providing clerical or administrative support in other areas as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
The following duties are illustrative of the general responsibilities and are not an exhaustive list:
• Oversee engineering activities related to parts and parts maintenance.
• Utilize the Part Master System to coordinate material acquisition, planning, implementation, and operation.
• Support engineers in developing and selecting parts and materials.
• Create and manage the electronic bill of materials in the ERP system, ensuring accuracy and timely updates.
• Align material selection and processes with management goals to support production.
• Monitor and ensure accuracy in databases, bills of materials, drawing management, part listings, and material ordering processes.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Comprehensive understanding of Part database systems, material purchasing, and production scheduling.
• Proficiency in software such as Microsoft Office and Adobe. Knowledge of AutoCAD is a plus.
• Familiarity with engineering drawings, design processes, and systems operations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to guide engineers in best practices for parts development and material selection.
Experience and Training:
• High school diploma or equivalent required, with 2 years’ experience in marine construction and engineering processes preferred.
• Associate degree in a design-related field or equivalent is a plus.
• A combination of relevant training and experience will be considered.
