Job Description
Bonnell Aluminum is actively seeking a results-oriented Staff Accountant who will report to the Plant Controller in the Clearfield, Utah Plant. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for key accounting functions as well as supporting the overall Bonnell business. Highly motivated and team-oriented, this person will possess an excellent knowledge of U.S. accounting practices. The Staff Accountant will have the ability to balance detailed transactional work with accounting/financial projects.

Bonnell Aluminum is North America’s premier manufacturer of custom aluminum extrusions. We manufacture mill finish, anodized, painted and thermally broken aluminum extrusions. Our press size ranges from 1,550 to 5,500-tons.
We produce large diameter extrusions requiring high-quality surface finish up to 16 inches in circle size. Fabricators and distributors use our extruded profiles in various applications: curtain walls, storefronts, light to heavy commercial and institutional windows, walkway covers, interior architectural products, photovoltaic panels, solar collectors, heat sinks for L.E.D. lighting, shower enclosures, hurricane protection products, automotive, light trucks, recreational vehicles, and industrial machinery.
We are headquartered in Newnan, Georgia. We have manufacturing operations in Newnan, Georgia; Carthage, Tennessee; Niles, Michigan; Clearfield, Utah; and Elkhart, Indiana.

What You'll Be Responsible For
- Prepare and maintain journal entries for the plant
- Perform monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations for the plant, including intercompany transactions. Review and investigate discrepancies
- Prepare and maintain month end checklist and year end closing lists
- Support SOX compliance efforts within the plants and division; prepare audit documentation
- Review and accurately maintain Trial Balance GL accounts
- Maintain fixed assets, including system creation of new capital projects, capitalizing assets, disposals and recording monthly depreciation
- Review Weekly Payments by Check, ACH, & Wire
- Assist with Income Statement and Balance Sheet reporting
- Assist with monthly conversion costs and variance reports for Flash reporting to Division
- Provides deliverables to plant team members regarding DPLOY KOM data, cost savings projects and other ad hoc assignments
- Upload travel expenses in business system
- Support preparation of periodic tax filings
- Prepare Sales and Use Tax Filings and annual 1099’s
- Assist in streamlining reporting for closing deadlines
- Create and implement procedures and establish best practices
- Assist with Plant Scorecard calculations
- Assist in Plan preparation and review
- Prepare quarterly and year end reports as required for parent company
- Other Ad Hoc activities as deemed necessary
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Experience with multi-entity manufacturing organizations
- 3 years of accounting/financial reporting experience required, including knowledge of GAAP and previous experience in SOX compliance activities.
- Strong communication (oral and written), analytical, organization, planning and project management skills.
- Advanced level proficiency with Excel, Word, and accounting-related software.
- ERP system experience; AS400, JD Edwards a plus
- Ability to identify and implement processes and improvements; partnering with others as needed
