About You:
- Minimum 2-4 years at big 4 accounting firm, nonprofit or in-house accounting role
- Skilled in corporate finance and accounting, with superior Excel modeling skills
- Proficient understanding of basic accounting principles, with eagerness and humility to learn public school and non-profit accounting
- Dedicated to excellent work product in all tasks
- Passionate about helping people with exemplary interpersonal and communication skills
- Relentlessly resourceful, optimistic, creative problem-solver, self-starter
- Audit experience preferred
- Thrive in and enjoy a remote work environment

About the Role:
As a School Finance & Accounting Analyst, you will be at the frontlines of bookreport‘s mission to optimize school spending. Our Co-founder and CEO (Cassandra Tognoni, Forbes 30 Under 30 2016) started her career in investment banking at Goldman Sachs, and it is that level of excellence in financial services that we believe all schools deserve. With the help of our proprietary software, the School Finance & Accounting Associate will provide end-to-end back-office services for our clients: budgeting, accounting, human resources, board reporting, financial modeling. As you use bookreport’s software and interact directly with school leaders and teachers, your unique insight into what’s working and what’s not will help shape the future of our product.
Some of the things you’ll work on:
- Act as junior point of contact for 1-2 school clients
- Perform financial modeling and analysis (i.e. cash flow projections, growth and financing scenario sensitivities) for school clients
- Perform financial accounting activities (i.e. booking journal entries, drafting check runs, reconciling bank and credit card statements, yearly audit)
- Present school clients with budget and tradeoff analyses to spur spend optimization
- Partner with our product team to develop new data analytic tools based on your insight and feedback from school clients
- Prepare monthly 3 statement financials and board reports
