PERMIT TECHNICIAN POSITION SUMMARY:
Bootz & Duke Sign Co. is a premier, full-service sign company, serving Arizona and national accounts for 60 years. We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Permit Technician to join our team. This position offers a terrific opportunity for someone who is organized and has a love for details. This position requires the ability to work in office full-time and demonstrate consistent attendance. Prior experience working for a family-owned business is a plus. 
 
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Working with our sales team and project managers to file for permits on new projects. 
  • Issuing and/or tracking permits through the permitting process, beginning with application acceptance, plan review, inspections and permit closure, and final inspections.
  • Establishing and maintaining systems to ensure that all files, letters, reference manuals, field inspection reports, permit files, blueprints, drawings, and other data or material is maintained in an organized fashion.
  • Working with plans examiners and inspectors throughout the company to develop and ensure consistent processes.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3 years’ city permitting knowledge and experience.
  • Possess the ability to positively interact with the other staff members, contractors, and government entities.
  • Strong time management, organization, telephone, attention to detail, and people skills.
  • Perform a variety of duties requiring independent judgment and technical knowledge.
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities with ease and handle situations with tact and composure.
  • Ability to commute and work in an office / manufacturing environment.
  • Clean driving record – some driving with personal and/or company vehicles may be required.
  • Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of computers, software programs (e.g., MS Office), and office equipment.
  • Ability to comply with OSHA and company safety requirements.
  • High school graduate, G.E.D. recipient, or equivalent combined training and education.
 HOURS & COMPENSATION:
  • Full-time, hourly, non-exempt position.
  • Regular office hours are 7:30 AM – 4:00PM, Monday – Friday. 
  • Not a hybrid or WFH position.
  • Ability to work longer hours and some weekends may be required during peak times.
  • Pay range is $25.00 - $30.00 per hour DOE.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Significant and prolonged periods of sitting and working at a desk and computer (up to 8 hours).
  • Ability to hear, read, and speak for effective communication (up to 8 hours).
  • Sitting, standing, walking, reaching with arms, kneeling, bending, and frequent use of hands and fingers to type, grasp, use phones, perform filing, open doors, etc. (up to 8 hours).
  • Lifting and moving weight up to 15lbs, without assistance or supervision, using proper bending and lifting techniques.
