What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sewer Treatment Plant Technician Trainee position at Borough of Waynesboro?
Job Duties
1. Perform various duties in the Sewer Treatment Plant and generally assist in maintenance.
2. In addition, learn to perform various tests on sewage as required by the operation of the Sewer Treatment Plant and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania State Department of Environmental Protection.
3. Learn the operation, repair and maintenance of pumps and systems in the sewage treatment plant, diagnose problems, disassemble pumps and systems, and also assist in their repair and assembly.
4. Learn to perform various tests on sewage, including digester, final effluent.
5. Learn to maintain proper chemical balances such as alkaline and ph by using chemical additives.
6. Learn pump schedules and normal routine maintenance procedures, as well as maintaining charts and records.
7. Perform other related duties as assigned and generally learn the overall operation of the Sewer Treatment Plant and chemical testings.
8. Individual is required to initiate within six (6) months of employment, a training program in an approved school and to obtain a plant operator=s license within one (1) year.
