Project Manager - Agriculture Development Project in Wanica, Suriname

About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Project Manager to lead our agricultural development projects in Suriname, with a particular focus on agribusiness and sustainable development projects on cassava farming and agro-processing projects. This role is crucial in advancing our mission while ensuring operational excellence and maintaining community impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Execution
- Lead project planning and implementation of agriculture projects, including cassava farming operations, agro-processing, and byproduct production.
- Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation effectively.
- Monitor project milestones and deliverables.
- Monitor and report on project performance metrics on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis for effective decision-making.
- Implement monitoring and evaluation systems that are aligned with organizational goals and impact metrics.
- Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain relationships with local communities and authorities.
- Maintain effective communication with international investors and partners.
- Facilitate cross-functional team collaboration.
- Lead and mentor a diverse team to achieve project goals.
- Risk Management
- Identify and implement project risk mitigation strategies.
- Implement sustainable practices and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and report on environmental and social impact.
- Operational Excellence
- Develop and maintain project management systems.
- Standardize processes across multiple projects.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure quality control standards are met.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Agriculture, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field
- 5 years of experience in project management, preferably in the agriculture sector
- PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification preferred
- Strong understanding of agricultural operations and agro-processing technologies
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Fluency in English; Dutch or local language proficiency is advantageous
