Boulder County Parks and Open Space (BCPOS)Department is seeking to hire a Seasonal Parks Technician, Buildings and Historic Preservation.
Come and join the Boulder County Parks and Open Space team and work in beautiful Boulder County! Your job will be working mostly outdoors in the rugged mountains near the continental divide, to the quiet pastoral flatlands in the eastern part of our county. You will be working with people that have a passion for public service, and for a public that appreciates your work. The majority of your work will be assisting our full-time staff with the preservation of our culturally significant structures. This may include anything from manual labor with hand tools, to window and door construction and installation, roofing, siding, foundation and masonry work, painting, new construction, shop work, and much more.
This is a seasonal, hourly, non-benefited position that will work 40 hours per week (for approximately 30 weeks), Tuesday - Friday 7:00am - 5:30pm. This position will work out of (5201 St. Vrain Rd., Longmont, Colorado. Under Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines, this position is non-exempt (eligible for overtime).
Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work.
Hiring Salary Range: $24.04-$26.04 Hourly
Tentative Hiring Timeline:
- Phone Screening: week of March 10th
- First Round Interviews: week of March 17th
- Reference Check: week of March 17th
- Physical Test: week of March 24th

Perform a variety of skilled and unskilled duties related to maintenance and preservation of historic buildings. Work with a large variety of hand and power tools Build windows and doors Re-glaze and refurbish historic windows and doors Routine maintenance of field and shop tools Painting and staining Helping our full-time staff perform scheduled maintenance on our historic structures from foundations to roofs and everything in between - Performs related work, as required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Fundamental knowledge of building construction and mechanical aptitude.
- Good working knowledge of carpentry
- Ability to perform manual labor jobs including heavy lifting and operation of hand and power tools
- Prioritizing safety of self and team
- Ability to operate a large truck and other heavy equipment
- Proficient in working autonomously
